- I was wondering if anyone has purchased Brio compatible trains through
- mail-order. I haven't found compatibles in my area (Northern
- California bay area) and I would like to compare. I bought Rachel a
- starter set of Brio trains and frankly, I wasn't that impressed with
- the quality. The bridge really needs to be sanded, for example.
- Perhaps I just got a bad set. We are having fun with the trains,
- though, and I,....uh, Rachel (yeah, that's it :-) ) needs a few more
- components.
-
- Anyway, if you have purchased compatible through mail-order, could you
- tell me what the brand was and if you are happy with it? I called a
- couple of mail order places and asked them what the brands were, but
- they were highly offended and didn't give out such information. I
- really don't know why this information should be secret; as I pointed
- out to one of the operators, if I ordered the train, I would know what
- the brand was when I received it. I would just prefer to know before
- I ordered, so I wouldn't have to sent it back if it wasn't what I
- wanted. She was a little more civil after that.
-
- A misc.kids poster posted a long summary of Brio trains about a year
- ago; She decided to buy Heros and was happy with the quality of it.
-
- Oh, if someone knows where I can find compatibles in the bay area, I'd
- appreciate that info also.
-
- I will post a summary.
-
- Thanks!
