  34. Have not said anything to you since I saw you were to get the arm amputated.
  35. One of those situations where words were sort of hard to find. I hope
  36. Cameron takes your advice on SSDI. It is very difficult to make the decision
  37. to apply for it since, as you, it was hard to come to terms that I would not
  38. work again on any regular basis. I do some computer consulting but it just
  39. about pays for itself. But it does help mentally to know I can still do
  40. something productive. I have had a job since I was 14 and miss the daily
  41. grind and friendships.

  43. Cameron and I both have the same disease and it does not get better, just
  44. worse, although there are periods when you do feel almost normal (although
  45. most people I know would dispute that <g>). You can fell great at 7 AM and
  46. be barely able to get around at 10AM. One of the things going against
  47. Cameron getting SSDI are their own regs. As I told him I could not even get
  48. a lawyer to take my case but I won anyway. His biggest problem will be
  49. getting a doctor who is very well versed in AS and who will stand behind
  50. him in his quest to get it. That in my mind is what did it for me. Both
  51. doctors I had used supplied me their complete records along with a letter
  52. stating their opinion as to my condition and it's prognosis. It is, as you
  53. know, a long process and the sooner he starts the better.
