  23. This is PURE rubbish.... Anyone who has any hearing impairment has a Dis
  24. ability,  In this world there is still much that depends on the heard
  25. word, Dont tell me im Not disabled, it is a disability, without sound,
  26. you cannot get a job as a telemarketer or any job that REQUIRES use of a
  27. phone.

  29. Im Deaf, been such since 7, i Grew up in 60s when mainstreaming was
  30. still unheard of, had to fight to get back into public school, went thu
  31. public school, vs hearing prople, I lipread and I consider anyone Deaf
  32. who can ONLY communicate via sign DOUBLE Disabled.

  36. I consider sign as needed for those born deaf or deaf too early for
  37. speech development, then sign is a good start, however once mastered,
  38. the point should be to get aaway from sign and into lipreading.

  40. As to this Culture Thing... Deaf is a Disability, NOT a culture, im sure
  41. a number here will jump omn me, however, I would not classify Deaf as a
  42. culture, etc...

  44. I dont hear <g>...  Of Blind Culture, Paraplagic Culture, Amputee
  45. Culture... I could go on... Deafness is a DEFECT in a Normal persons
  46. body, and therefore a DISABLITY... your hearings shot, its same as if a
  47. cars Battery was shot...

  49. So spare me from the culture etc thing... I think its a attempt to Hide
  50. from the REAL World.
