- I think that the BEST actor for a role should be chosen. I DON'T
- think that a deaf actor should be chosen just BECAUSE she/he is
- deaf but rather because he/she beat out the competition in the
- auditions.

- Recently I read that Grant Shaud (sp?), the actor who plays Miles
- Silverberg on the Murphy Brown show is Presbyterian or Episcopalian
- or some other Protestant religion. When they were auditioning for
- the show, they wanted someone who was Jewish, because Miles is a
- Jewish character. However, in the auditions Shaud excelled over
- the other actors, so the casting agents chose him for the part.
- That's how the system SHOULD work.
