  30.    My husband is a Police Officer. A friend of ours who also
  31.    works with my husband, has a daughter who was quite taken
  32.    with my being a fire"lady" (Firefighter <g>). It was such
  33.    a positive experience for me having this little girl
  34.    "idolize" me. She would visit me at the firehouse, sit in
  35.    the rigs with my helmet on <smile>. Thanks for reminding
  36.    me of it! One year for Christmas, I conned an old helmet
  37.    (one of the real old metal ones ugh!) from the supply
  38.    officer, had it all painted and made a helmet shield for
  39.    her. We made her an honorary member of my shift. I think we
  40.    all had a great time with it <g>. I was transferred a
  41.    short while later to our Rescue Unit, being extremely busy
  42.    there, I didn't have time for her visits, and then she
  43.    became interested in "boys". Our special bond still
  44.    exists, but has outgrown the boundaries :)  I'm sure it
  45.    will be something for us both to look back at with fond
  46.    memories.
