- Again, the requirements may vary by state since the federal government
- is out of the ambulance specs business. The DOT KKK specs only apply
- to ambulances purchased by the government.

- You have your types a little mixed up. A type I is a pickup truck
- chassis with a box. There is no walkthrough, just a little window.
- A type II is a converted van, usually extended in length and height
- but not in width. A type III is a box on a van chassis, with a
- walkthrough. I'm not sure what things like the new units we're
- seeing built on International medium truck chassis are called, if
- anything.
