  17. Well, I don't have a legal ruling from a court, but the official stance of my
  18. volunteer rescue squad, the area EMS council, and the Va. Association of 
  19. Vol. Rescue Squads, is that volunteers are NOT required to obey OHSA
  20. regulations, at least not in Virginia.  However, at my squad, we are adopting 
  21. many of the rules either on our own initiative, or because the Richmond
  22. Ambulance Authority requires it within the city, and that includes us.

  24. I admit, though, that I don't know much about the offical rules and
  25. recommendations.  All I really know comes from our SOPs, which are purportedly
  26. based on OHSA rules.
