- Well, I don't have a legal ruling from a court, but the official stance of my
- volunteer rescue squad, the area EMS council, and the Va. Association of
- Vol. Rescue Squads, is that volunteers are NOT required to obey OHSA
- regulations, at least not in Virginia. However, at my squad, we are adopting
- many of the rules either on our own initiative, or because the Richmond
- Ambulance Authority requires it within the city, and that includes us.
-
- I admit, though, that I don't know much about the offical rules and
- recommendations. All I really know comes from our SOPs, which are purportedly
- based on OHSA rules.
