  11. I want to buy an electric can opener.  It's a small-ticket item that I
  12. haven't seen reviewed by CU in the past few years.  Does anyone have a
  13. model that they particularly like -- especially, one that can handle
  14. rectangular or odd-shaped cans?

  16. I saw one in Fred Meyer which was expensive and unique.  It is manufactured
  17. in France.  They claim it doesn't leave any sharp edges.  According to the
  18. illustration on the box, and from what I could tell by examining the
  19. business-end of the thing, it yanks the lid right off the can rather than
  20. cutting around the inside of the lid.  The lids which had been removed in
  21. the illustration still had the "rim" attached, and both the rim and the top
  22. of the can had gnarled gear marks.   Have you ever seen or used one of
  23. these things?  The box showed odd-shaped cans and claimed the thing could
  24. handle them.
