  21. Extended warranties, by and large, are pure profit for dealers;
  22. otherwise, they wouldn't try so hard to sell them to you.

  24. If you feel you must have one, check with AAA or with Geico
  25. Insurance, both of which sell them for about half the cost a
  26. dealer will charge you (demonstrating how much profit there
  27. is in them).  I don't know about AAA, but you don't have to
  28. be insured by Geico to buy their extended warranty.  I have
  29. no experience with either of these extended warranty
  30. programs.
