- ECUADORAN STUDENTS CONTINUE STRIKE
-
- Thousands of Ecuadoran high school students continued their
- street demonstrations and meetings for the second consecutive day
- on Thursday, November 19, blocking traffic. The police attacked
- the demonstrators with tear gas. The Ecuadoran High School
- Student Federation (FESE) had called for a strike on Wednesday,
- November 18. However, on Thursday, many students still did not
- return to their classrooms, and took to the streets in various
- parts of Quito and other cities. (AFP )
