  18. Streisand urges Colorado Boycott

  21. Barbara Streisand urged fellow entertainers to boycott Colorado
  22. because of a new anti-homosexual rights amendment to the state's
  23. constitution.  "There are plenty of us who love the mountains and
  24. rivers of that truly beautiful state, but we must now say clearly that
  25. the moral climate there is no longer acceptable...We must refuse to
  26. play where they discriminate," she said at a gala AIDS benefit.

  28. Liza Minnelli, Shirley MacLaine, Elton John, Billy Joel and his wife,
  29. Christie Brinkley, Hugh Hefner, Dolly Parton and Penny Marshall
  30. attended the event.

  32. Colorado voters have approved an amendment invalidating several city
  33. ordinances protecting homosexual rights.  The measure also barred such
  34. policies and laws in the future and banned recognition of homosexuals
  35. as a minority group.
