  15. first, many thanks to all of you for
  16. the speedy helps on the terminal problem.
  17. second, I think other people might find
  18. this info useful, so I post the solution here.

  20. the environment variable DISPLAY causes
  21. troubles in this terminal problem.
  22. the emacs doesn't recognize the DISPLAY
  23. (sometimes and on some terminal).
  24. so in this case, you should
  25. csh>unsetenv DISPLAY
  26. to nullify the DISPLAY variable
