  21.     lack/(wrong level) of spl()'s around buffer manipulation routines in
  22.     the 2.03 and earlier kernels... For others, getting 2.1 is the only
  23.     way to prevent this nasty bug...

  29.     variables, probably due to braindeath in the 1.40 compiler, and
  30.     added an extra parameter to a function call. I assume this extra
  31.     parameter is the important fix?
