  11. I have a problem configuring SNA Services :

  13. We want to have two MVS mainframes, not connected via VTAM links.  RS/6000
  14. workstations connect, via LU6.2, to applications running under CICS.

  16. The idea behind two mainframes is to have a split of processing and to
  17. provide a recovery facility.  We need to have RS/6000 applications connect
  18. simultaneously to both mainframes, so I figure we need to have two PU
  19. definitions on the RS/6000.  I can't get this to work - I keep getting
  20. 'device already in use' messages when I try to bring up the second PU.  I'm
  21. fiddling the configuration at the moment since we don't have two mainframes;
  22. my configuration is only talking to one VTAM via 2 token-ring interfaces
  23. on a 3745.

  25. So, has anyone done anything similar who can help ?  Presumably, APPN
  26. support would solve this problem in the coming year ?
