- I'd like some information about the 925 and 950. Specifically,
- which came first?
-
- I have had a 925 for a long time. A couple weeks ago, I happened
- to be in one of the many surplus electronics places when I found
- what looked like a group of 3 925s. The first was broken, but
- the second one seemed to be in excelent shape. I shorted 2 and 3
- on the RS-232 port and sure enough... But the display looked
- different. I finally realized that this was a TVI-950. So I grabbed
- it (the price was right), and got it home. Now I'm having a hard
- time deciding which terminal to use more.
-
- Both seem to have identical electronics, apart from the CPU board,
- and those look remarkably similar, except that the 950 is missing
- the internal DIP switches. What's worse, the settings of those
- switches seems to be just exactly the opposite of how I like it.
- Keyclick is on, screenblank is off, attributes are screen instead
- of line... All this has me going for the 925 over the 950.
-
- It appears to me that the 950 is an 'upgrade' of the 925, since
- the CPU board bears the traces for that internal switch set.
- If I could set the options the way I like them (the setup screen
- is no help as far as I can tell), I'd chose the 950, but that damn
- keyclick is driving me batty, and I bet the lack of screenblank
- would kill the phosphor before too long.
