- [stuff about Codonics 1575 deleted]
-
- With all due respect for the poster, this is yet another example of
- what you get when you try to make a dumb terminal do something it was
- never really designed for in the first place.
-
- I have been inflicted with graphics add-ons for the VT-100, the adm3a,
- the adm5 and various WYSE/Codonics stuff. There are loads of others
- out there. IMHO, they are 99% junk.
-
- The Codonics might well be the best of the lot - too bad they started with
- a thoroughly crappy terminal like a WYSE-xx.
-
- To answer the question, we diddled with the 1575 and never really found a GOOD
- way to keep the intensities the same between text mode and graphics mode.
- I never thought they were really far enough apart to be worth screwing
- around with, if possibly only because the stupid WYSE part of the unit
- could detonate at any moment. In this case, I take the approach of if it ain't
- really broke, don't try to fix it! (you might make it WORSE)
-
- If you really want a graphics terminal, BUY A GRAPHICS TERMINAL. While it
- will cost you an arm and a leg, you *might* be better off.
-
- (and you might not - depends on what you buy.....)
