- A couple of things to try:
-
- 1) run chkdsk /f - you might have lost clusters on your
- disk (data with no associated file in the FAT)
- 2) look for files with the hidden attribute set (I think
- dir /a:h will do that)
- 3) if you have a permanent swap file under windows,
- you might want to remove it.

- My guess is the first option will work because dir is not
- reporting the missing 14MB. Also, it avoids confusion if you
- use 'disk space' for 'HD memory' (most people think RAM when
- you say memory). Actually, rereading your post, I'm not sure
- whether *you* know the difference (HD memory is not the same
- as system RAM). I *hope* thats obvious.
