  33. A couple of things to try: 
  34.  
  35. 1) run chkdsk /f - you might have lost clusters on your
  36.     disk (data with no associated file in the FAT)
  37. 2) look for files with the hidden attribute set (I think
  38.     dir /a:h will do that)
  39. 3) if you have a permanent swap file under windows,
  40.     you might want to remove it.

  42. My guess is the first option will work because dir is not 
  43. reporting the missing 14MB. Also, it avoids confusion if you
  44. use 'disk space' for 'HD memory' (most people think RAM when
  45. you say memory). Actually, rereading your post, I'm not sure
  46. whether *you* know the difference (HD memory is not the same
  47. as system RAM). I *hope* thats obvious.
