  11. It would be neat to make a change to the console driver to enable
  12. beeping through the audio device.   It doesn't seem too terribly
  13. difficult coceptually since the driver already has to recognize
  14. control-G, then send a command to the keyboard to generate a beep
  15. through the keyboard's piezo element.  Dealing with the audio is
  16. probably more sticky because one has to cooperate with the audio
  17. device driver.

  19. I'm not terribly familiar with the audio device, but it would be
  20. neat if the audio device supported an ioctl that produced a
  21. pre-defined beep, possibly with a selectable priority so that a
  22. playing sound could be interrupted for important audio notices.
