  11. I wrote a perl script to let users change their fax-reader status 
  12. among restricted/unrestricted/trusted from the command line, so it 
  13. can be run from a crontab or reminder file at specified times.  If 
  14. there's any demand for such a thing, I'll e-mail or post it; let me 
  15. know.  It also lets root add fax access for users with none now.

  17. The idea (here) was to let someone who might need to get faxes when 
  18. the office is closed, but shouldn't be bothered by e-mail that 
  19. faxes have arrived during normal hours, run this from his crontab 
  20. file to change his status automatically when the office closes and 
  21. back to restricted the next morning (or sooner by hand).

  23. You can't use this without perl.  On the other hand, I can't
  24. imagine (any longer) trying to administer a system without perl.
