- I wrote a perl script to let users change their fax-reader status
- among restricted/unrestricted/trusted from the command line, so it
- can be run from a crontab or reminder file at specified times. If
- there's any demand for such a thing, I'll e-mail or post it; let me
- know. It also lets root add fax access for users with none now.
-
- The idea (here) was to let someone who might need to get faxes when
- the office is closed, but shouldn't be bothered by e-mail that
- faxes have arrived during normal hours, run this from his crontab
- file to change his status automatically when the office closes and
- back to restricted the next morning (or sooner by hand).
-
- You can't use this without perl. On the other hand, I can't
- imagine (any longer) trying to administer a system without perl.
