- Only the *first* access (after insertion) to a floppy is slow because
- DR DOS 6.0 reads in the whole FAT for later faster access. This is
- documented in one of the information files on Novell's BBS and FTP
- system (no pointers handy, but can try to find them).
- If you use Super PC-Kwik then all subsequent accesses to your floppies
- will be very fast. (On my system) There is however always a very short
- access (floppy drive light) even if the data is already in the cache
- (and the volume-change detection is working correctly). I never
- understood why that is. I had the same "problem" with HyperDisk (do not
- remember which version, but can find out).
