- Are you sure? I remember seeing many of the new internals based on the
- Rockwell chipset, and they still have the UART socketed, only it is in a
- different package (ie. the square-flat package type versus the old DIP package
- type). Modems like the Supra and the Zoom now have the sqaure-flat UART
- socket (but the UART still says 16550AFN), and a few cheaper modems still
- have the 16540 (albiet in the new flat-square package).

- As far as I recall, the Rockwell chipset does not provide the UART services
- per se.
