- Does anyone out there know how to add memory to a Unisys 386-16 computer? The
- government bought the systems with a whopping 2 MB of RAM which is soldered to the
- motherboard. No SIMM sockets in sight, only an odd 32-bit card slot (slot 8) with
- dire warnings not to plug the 'Memory Expansion Board' into any other slot.
- Well, I would like to run Linux, other people I work with are starting to use
- Windows 3.1 and Word for Windows, so the 2 MB of RAM just isn't cutting it any
- more. We would like to expand the systems, but Unisys want around $800 for a 4 MB
- memory card.
- Any suggestions on how we could do better would be greatly appreciated.
