- I have a 386-DX-33Mhz computer, and am experiencing conflicts with my new
- Maxtor 7213A hard drive and my Sound Blaster card.
-
- I used to have 2 IDE hard drives and everything worked fine. When I
- upgraded one of the hard drives to the Maxtor 7213A, I started
- experiencing major conflicts when the Sound Blaster would try and produce
- digitized sound (although okay in FM sound). Trying to play Wolfenstein
- 3D with digitized sound makes the system lock up almost immediately (and
- that is of course my favorite game!).
-
- The Sound Blaster is configured to base address 220, IRQ 7, and I have
- tried the other IRQ's as well.
-
- I have a Fujitsu 89 Meg running as the master drive and the Maxtor 7213A
- running as the slave drive (and have stacker installed on the Maxtor). I
- have also tried the Maxtor as master and the Fujitsu as slave.
-
- Could this be something in the CMOS? (I have tried most combinations of
- settings, and am just frustrated!)
-
- If you have experienced the same problems, or have any suggestions, please
- E-mail me.
-
- Thank You
