  13. I have a 386-DX-33Mhz computer, and am experiencing conflicts with my new
  14. Maxtor 7213A hard drive and my Sound Blaster card.
  15.  
  16. I used to have 2 IDE hard drives and everything worked fine.  When I
  17. upgraded one of the hard drives to the Maxtor 7213A, I started
  18. experiencing major conflicts when the Sound Blaster would try and produce
  19. digitized sound (although okay in FM sound).  Trying to play Wolfenstein
  20. 3D with digitized sound makes the system lock up almost immediately (and
  21. that is of course my favorite game!).
  22.  
  23. The Sound Blaster is configured to base address 220, IRQ 7, and I have
  24. tried the other IRQ's as well.
  25.  
  26. I have a Fujitsu 89 Meg running as the master drive and the Maxtor 7213A
  27. running as the slave drive (and have stacker installed on the Maxtor).  I
  28. have also tried the Maxtor as master and the Fujitsu as slave.
  29.  
  30. Could this be something in the CMOS?  (I have tried most combinations of
  31. settings, and am just frustrated!)
