- I recently phoned a local clone manufacturer regarding the speed of the
- SRAM's used on their motherboards. This is what I was told.
-
- Processor CPU CLK Tag SRAM Cache SRAM DRAM
- 486DX 50MHZ 15ns 20ns 70ns
- 486DX 33MHZ 20ns 20ns 70ns
- 486SX 25MHz 25ns 25ns 70ns
-
- Am I correct in saying that these board do not support the 486 fast Burst
- mode as this would require access times (tag+cache) of 20ns,30ns and 40ns
- for the 50mhz,33mhz and 25mhz boards.
-
- Are these boards typical?
- How many 486DX 50Mhz support a 20ns cache system???
- How much of a difference do'es fast burst mode really make? Is it times 2?
