  15. You pinpointed the problem yourself.. if you want to multitask with a
  16. communication task in the background you can't do witout a 16550, because it
  17. has a 16 byte buffer, making it possible for the CPU to spend less time
  18. looking at what comes in through the RS232. Without the 16550 incoming
  19. characters might get lost in the stream, as you have experienced..
