- We're having a slight disagreement with one of our suppliers regarding
- the cooling of a 486DX50 computer.
-
- These machines were sent to us using a cheap baby AT case, with only
- one small fan in the power supply, and no heatsink on the CPU.
-
- I personally do not feel that the fan in the power supply is pulling enough
- air thru the chassis to sufficiently cool the CPU.
-
- The supplier does not feel that a heatsink is needed, and claims that
- they have 100's of computers out there without them. They're willing
- to put one in, for a fee.
-
- I'm looking for sources of information regarding this. Perhaps where I
- might find a copy of any Intel literature regarding this, or any studies,
- tests, etc.
-
- I'm interested in something fairly scientific, if possible.
-
- I'm just rather tired of arguing with these people.
