- Hello there,
-
- I've already asked my questions in comp.fonts, but i think the people
- reading comp.fonts aren't hardware orientated.... Too bad...
-
- My original posting follows, and i would like to add one question:
- - Does anybody have the (email) adress of Hewlett Packard ??
- In that case I could direct my questions to them...
-
- Here's the posting:
-
- Hello, font users,
-
- I was wondering if someone out there (perhaps from Hewlett Packard) could
- provide me with the nessesery information to convert my own softfonts
- to rom-fonts.
-
- I own a HP-Laserjet+, and I'm using several soft fonts. I also do have a
- font cardridge (Legal Elite). What i would like to try is to create
- a couple of new ROM's (EPROMS) containing just my own soft-fonts, and
- substitute these in place of the normal LEGAL-ELITE roms. (Keep them
- exchangable).
- This would save a lot of down-loading time.
-
- What i need for this is the structure in which i should transform my
- soft-fonts. Things like - In what byte should the Pitch be stored
- - In what byte should the Fixed/Proportional bit
- be stored
- - Same for Height/Width/Italics-Normal/Boldness/etc..
-
- It would be (of course) most easy if someone already wrote a programm for
- this purpose, but it won't be a problem for me to write one if i could get
- the structure information from someone.
-
- Thanx in advance and greetings,
- Thijs Kaper
