- Hello... I have recently cone into possesion of an "hp-260" workstation.
- It was donated to a local high school by a financial institution, and I
- was contacted to help make it work. I have zero hp experience, but plenty
- of sun workstation experience. I have put the whole thing together, (system
- consists of a cpu box, labeled hp 260, another box which contains a disk of
- unknown size, and a 1/4" cartridge tape drive.) turning this beast on, with
- one of hps' terminals connected to "controller 1" shows self tests happening
- "droms" loading, and system software loading. The machine then sits there,
- and seems to be really good at interpreting BASIC programs.
-
- So... what do I have here? What do I need to do/get to make it work?
- I understand this box will run some version of hp-ux, and that I need
- to get some boot tapes for it (no tapes or docs came with, of course)
- HP has been of no help- tells me they cant help me... don't support the
- thing/software any more. I would be eternally grateful if someone could at
- least point me in the right direction... if someone could provide software
- to get this thing on its feet, ill send you blank tapes-- any help would
- be appreciated.
-
- Thank you,
