- For the last six months I've been pretty happy with the way fbackup has
- been performing on our 8mm drive and doing backups across the net via
- NFS. I believe I just found a bug however. It seems that the first
- machine (alphabetically) in the graph file is completely missed. I have
- a graph file that looks something like this:
-
- i ictest1/hp3070/boards
- i ictest1/hp3070/boardsa
- i ictest1/hp3070/boardsb
- i ictest2/hp3070/boards
- i ictest2/users
- i spock/users
-
- The command being used is:
-
- /etc/fbackup -f /dev/8mm -0uvn -g fbackup.graph -c fbackup.config
-
- It doesn't matter how you arrange those directory names - fbackup will
- not get ictest1 because it is alphabetically first. I have created a
- bogus directory "ictest0" and put a dummy directory and junk file in
- that directory to see what will happen to ictest1... The results are
- flashing past me on the screen now. It seems that ictest0 is backed up
- because it is local (even though it exists in the /nfs directory which I
- shouldn't have done.) It also appears that ictest1 is now being backed
- up as well. I want to see how long it takes for fbackup to do
- ictest0/ and ictest1/hp3070/boards.
-
- Is anyone aware of this problem with fbackup? A "what" command on
- /etc/fbackup reveals that I'm using Rev 70.29 from PATCH_8.0X_1
- (installed in the last couple months.) Is there yet another patch for
- fbackup/frecover?
