- It doesn't hang forever, just longer than you are probably
- willing to wait. The problem is with the OW3 server. You
- can request OW3 patch 100444 (or whatever is the current

- This work around has worked on every system that I have seen
- the problem show up. Try setting the resource in a file called
- Xdefaults-<hostname>. The file should reside in the $HOME
- directory on the HP system with <hostname> replaced by the
- hostname of your HP system. When xrdb is involved in setting
- X resources, changes to .Xdefaults may not work like you

-
- Well, sorry, but it does work for me, too. I have an IPC
- on my desk running 4.1.2 with OW3. Since the behavior
- changes when you set the *useColorObj resource, it evidently
- is being seen by the application. I have never seen it
- cause a core dump of a client. It doesn't matter what
- version of libXm.a is on your system since that is an
- archive library. Changing archive libraries on the system
- won't affect the applications. The shared library version
- may make a difference, but I am unaware of any shared
- library version requirements related to this problem.
