- I haven't been able to get much help from HP tech support
- on this, but...
-
- Has anyone noticed that when you rlogin from a Sun
- running 4.1.2 and OpenLook window manager OpenWindows 3.0,
- set the $DISPLAY to the hostname of the sun, that you
- cannot display hpterm, ovw, or hpcalc, on the Sun?
- xterm, xclock work as expected. But none of the Motif
- clients I tried (admittedly just those few) will
- display on the Sun. Instead it just hangs forever...
-
- HP suggested a work around where you set your
- .Xdefaults resources on both the Sun and HP as
- *useColorObj: False
-
- It still didn't work for us. Now, instead of hanging,
- it'll core dump. Apparently the guys at HP said that
- it does work for them (the workaround) but not for
- us. I'm wondering what version of the Motif libraries
- on the HP would make it work. Our libXm.a is dated
- Dec 1991. Is a newer version available? And does
- it fix the problem?
-
- Anyone have any ideas? This is urgent since we cannot
- run ovw (part of HP OpenView) remotely on our Suns.
-
- Thanks, Clare
