- After working on multiple platforms for a while I am starting to
- question the format that HP compilers store their debug format in.
- I dont doubt that the format is well suited for the task, but rather
- that it is kept private. We primarily use the Gnu compilers here
- because they are constant across platforms. I dont expect that from
- HP since part of the system performance story is due to compiler
- technologies, but it would be oh-so-nice if another debugger could
- read and debug the object files. Xdb is a fine debugger, but not as
- feature-rich as gdb. What (if anything) can be done to get the
- debug format information released?
