  17. We ran two 4410 terminals at 9600 baud in our Packaging Warehouse which
  18. was a block away from and a floor below the 3B2.  After 3 years on the
  19. 3B and two more on our Pyramid they show no sign of lost or garbled
  20. data.  The building is a block long, and these terminals are as far
  21. from the computer as they can get and not be outside!  For long runs
  22. we use 50-pair phone-type cables with "harmonica" adapters on each end
  23. to convert them back to 4-pair modular.

  32. $5 sounds reasonable.  AT&T wants ~$45 for the pre-wired Terminal/Printer
  33. and ACU Modem adapters.  But if I understand what you're talking about,
  34. you still need the crimped cable to run between the adapters.  I must
  35. be missing something.  Anyway, try to get a crimper.  They're great.
  36. We use regular flat 4-pair cable that costs about 7 cents a foot.  You
  37. can make cables up any length - its the model ov convenience.  Got a
  38. rolled-over cable and need a straight-through?  Cut off one end and
  39. crimp on another!  BTW, I don't have any stock in cable-crimper companies.
