  25. To take full advantage of WINX, you do *not* need to burn new EPROMs! It
  26. just saves booting time and memory!

  28. Simply put WINX.PRG in your AUTO folder and the WINX.CPX in your CPX
  29. folder and reboot. Call the CPX in order to make your settings, then
  30. click the 'Sichern'-button. There is no 'OK' Button because changes will be
  31. made after your next reboot. (Abbruch=Cancel)

  33. I read the manual a long time ago, so I don't know if there will be
  34. problems with non-German ROM Versions. If you are *really* interested in
  35. WINX, I could send you the patched 1.4 ROM file produced by WINX. For me
  36. it would be no problem using an English OS, but maybe it would be a
  37. problem for you using a German one?!

  39. I use WINX with TOS 2.06 in my MEGA ST. I have to copy the GEM into RAM
  40. first (using GEMRAM from the WINX author). After that WINX can patch the
  41. GEM.

  43. But: You will never get more than 7 windows on your desktop! Only
  44. applications or alternative desktops (e.g. Gemini) can make usage of the
  45. more windows! Gemini has some problems with WINX, if you scroll a
  46. window, that is not active and laying particulary under another one. :-(

  48. But there will be a new (MiNT supporting) version of Gemini, soon. Let's
  49. hope this small bug will be fixed!
