- I still prefer the way the PET and C64 and the current Amiga Shell do it:
- in reverse of the character with a code $40 higher than the control code.
- Thus a linefeed becomes a reverse J, or a CR becomes a reverse M. This is
- easy to read when you're accustomed to it and there's no risk for
- misinterpretation if you don't need reverse already for something other.
- This way you also keep the count of (visible) characters on the line constant.
