  23. I'm using the term "dead" in the sense that C-A will not be making any more
  24. of these very soon. I seriously doubt this will cause my (or your's) A3000
  25. to suddenly cease to work. I am simply reading the handwriting on the wall.

  27. Think about it -- why in the world would anyone buying a new Amiga want a
  28. 3000, when for about $500.00 more, you may be able to buy a 4000/30 with the
  29. latest and greatest Amiga chipset?

  31. Yes, the 4000/30 isn't a real machine, and there is no advertised price for
  32. it. But there is enough evidence to support that it _does_ exist, and the
  33. price that I quoted would be right in line with C-A's usual pricing
  34. structure.

  36. C-A will need a mid-level AGA machine to flesh out their line. I know that
  37. everyone wants them to make a "pizza-box" with one or two card slots, and a
  38. detachable keyboard. And it better not cost a lot. Hmmmmm....perhaps $1400?

  41. 4000/30 -- 68030, AGA, IDE w/120meg HD, 5 slots  --   $2200.00
  42. 1800    -- 68030, AGA, IDE, 2 slots              --   $1400.00
  43. 1200    -- 68020, AGA, IDE, 32bit bay            --   $ 700.00

  45. Okay....so we are looking at $800 for 3 slots and a HD. Wow. What a deal.
  46. They _could_ replace the '30 with an '20 though. This is a possibilty.
