- I've had a devil of a time with Populous II on my Amiga 3000. I bought it
- back when I owned a 500, then sold off my 500 and bought a 3000. I bought
- the game in part because Bullfrog made it HD installable, and I wanted to
- support them in their efforts. Unfortunately, on an Amiga 3000, there seems
- to be a serious glitch in Populous II which makes it nearly unplayable. It
- seems that, while Populous II multitasks correctly (this is a GOOD thing), it
- does not use a standard intuition screen (which is BAD). And when you get
- hot and heavy into the middle of a game, often the program will start flipping
- two completely dissimilar screens back and forth rapidly. Near as I can
- figure, mouse clicks on the Populous II screen are "ghosted" through to the
- Workbench screen, which can launch other programs, open windows, create
- general havoc, etc.
-
- Does anyone have a patch to make Pop II work on a 3000, or is it hopeless?
- It's a shame that such a good game fails on an '030 machine...
