- I adopt a similar techinque (ie via MS-DOS formatted disks) moving between
- my Arc A440 (very old) and a PowerBook 170. A useful extension to the idea
- is to use DOSMounter on the Mac, so that MS-DOS disks look like regular Mac
- disks.
-
- However where I get problems is with files over 800k (remember I have a
- A440). Here I use comms s/w and a handy home-made connection lead. I use
- Zterm on the Mac, Hearsay II on the Arc, use the ZMODEM protocol (about the
- fastest), and run at the maximum baud. This latter is the limiting factor,
- and I'm sorry to say the limit is on the Arc side.
-
- What I'm really waiting for is an AppleTalk card for the Arc. This would open
- the door to so many useful things that I can't understand why they're not
- available already.
