  13. PC-NFS 4.0 refuses to mount a printer, with the diagnostic message:

  15.     NFS040F : The specified file system is not local to server mundo.

  17. This is after I give the command:

  19.     net use lpt2: mundo:lw_3.138 /cmd=h /fmt=p /wsize=1024

  21. Attempting to mount the printer from nfsconf fails with the diagnostic
  22. message:

  24.     NFS157F : The mount request failed.

  26. A "net printers" gives the diagnostic message:

  28.     NFS228F : Can't get printers from server
  29.  
  30. However, a "net printers mundo" gives a complete and correct list of
  31. printers.  Also, there are no problems with mounting file systems,
  32. either from the command line or under nfsconf.

  34. The DOS side: Compaq LTE/Lite 25, DR-DOS 6.0, MemoryMax memory
  35. management, SuperStor disk compression, 4 Mb RAM, 60 Mb HD.

  37. The Unix side: Sun SPARCserver 670MP, SunOS 4.1.2, no patches, pcnfsd
  38. version 2.0, all printers are remote, /usr/spool/pcnfs is a local
  39. drive (this is our file server).

  41. I'm at my wits end, could someone please post some hints for what I
  42. should try or look for?  I don't understand why I am receiving a
  43. filesystem diagnostic for print sharing operations.  This is fairly
  44. important to me, since if I can't get this to work, our department
  45. will just look elsewhere for NFS/print-sharing solutions, and I don't
  46. want to go with any other product.
