  10. I am trying to set up HP LaserJet II and III printers on two
  11. OS/2 NetWare-attached workstations.  I am using the RPRINTER
  12. program supplied with the requestor to set up network printing.

  14. RPRINTER works OK until someone logs in to the workstation and
  15. tries to CAPTURE the printer port--at that point no one on the network
  16. can print jobs to the remote printer, and if they try a continuously
  17. growing spoolfile starts bouncing back and forth between the local
  18. (attached) printer queue and the network queue.

  20. I assume that the CAPTURE command is wresting control of LPT1 away
  21. from RPRINTER, and therefore a spooling loop of sorts is generated.

  23. With our old 2.15 network, we used the LANSPOOL VAP and were able
  24. to attach printers to workstations that would continue to work even
  25. if the user of the workstation subsequently did a CAPTURE to a network
  26. queue.

  28. Can anyone explain to me how we can accomplish this with NW 3.11, OS/2
  29. requester RPRINTER, and OS/2 2.0?
