  26. I did some snooping around using inimaint. I only have one OS2SYS.INI file
  27. to look at (249K but stable) so I can't compare to see if this is strange
  28. or not. Hopefully some other people could have a look.

  30. Anyway, this is what I have found. There is an entry called
  31. PM_Workplace:ActiveHandles. The contents of this are: PM_Workplace:Handles0
  32. but I have a :Handles, :Handles0 and :Handles1. Each of these entries is
  33. 24K long. Now it seems as if only one of these is used but I am surely not
  34. game to delete the other 2!!! Removing them would reduce my file to 200K so
  35. I still need to find a lot more to get down to the reported 55K files
  36. around here.

  38. Now, when I ask INIMAINT to calculate the size of the file, it says
  39. 92K!!!!!  I have just saved it to a new file and it is 92K I am now going
  40. to be a little brave and reboot from floppy and replace the old file with
  41. this more compact one.

  43. CONCLUSION: OS/2 (With SPP) seems to leave gaps in OS2SYS.INI and not
  44. compact them out.

  46. BTW I did the same calculation on OS2.INI and it calculates to 116K and
  47. takes up 126K so that's not too bad.
