- The 1522 uses programmed I/O. The 1542 is a bus-mastering card.
- OS/2 2.0 has built-in support for the 1542. I don't know if it
- supports the 1522 as well. The OS/2 drivers for the 1542 are
- for versions prior to 2.0.

- The Texel CD-ROM is not in IBM's list of officially supported
- CD-ROM drives, which includes Toshiba, Sony, and NEC. It might
- still work.
