- You should reformat the PARTITION that you wish to install the beta. You
- should also reformat the partition with the beta installed once you wish
- to install a newer verion of OS/2 on top of it.

-
- I like HPFS. It allows long file names, has some built in defragmentation,
- and is faster. Be sure to have enough memory on your system. The installation
- program won't even let you choose HPFS if you only have 4 Megabytes of memory.
- I would suggest at least 8MB.
-
- As long as OS/2 is running, you can access the HPFS formatted partitions from
- OS/2, DOS Virtual Machines, and DOS Virtual Machines running a specific version
- of DOS. If you boot plain vanilla DOS instead of OS/2, you will NOT be able
- to access HPFS partitions.
-
- In addition, you will not be able to see any FAT partitions on your physical
- hard disk located AFTER an HPFS partition. ie. If you have one hard disk
- partitioned as C:, D:, E:, and F: and you format D as HPFS and you boot real
- DOS from a floppy disk, dual boot, or another disk partition, you will not
- be able to see drive D, E or F even though E and F are FAT. This is not a
- problem with OS/2... it is a side effect of DOS's lack of intelligence.

-
- First you install OS/2 and WINOS2 3.0. There is a separate procedure for
- installing WINOS23.1. You can install either version or both if you wish.
- The installation procedure for WINOS23.1 is documented in the readme file.

-
- Correct. This makes sense. The TSR's are written for DOS only. (OS/2 uses
- device drivers instead.) Also keep in mind that you may only be able to use
- a particular TSR in one DOS Virtual machine at a time. This holds for your
- particular TSR. If you run two of them in different DOS Virtual Machines,
- neither of them will know about the other and they will be constantly
- clobbering each other... if they don't lock up your system.
