  22. I think I can do more damage than that.  I have a Paradise 1024 SVGA card.
  23. I don't have the manuals with me now, but I seem to recall a blurb in 
  24. there that claims the card is compatible with an 8514/a.  The reason I
  25. tend to recall that is a sentence that says something to the effect that
  26. if the card should fail in some situation where a real 8514/a wouldn't then
  27. paradise will buy you a real 8514/a.  I got this card years ago, so I may
  28. be completely wrong about it, so could someone with the card and the manuals
  29. look it up.  I remeber specifying 8514 as my display type the second time I
  30. installed OS/2, but all I got was 16 colors and regular VGA resolution.  Does
  31. that count as 'failure in a situation where a real 8514/a wouldn't'?

  33. I don't particulary want an 8514/a if the guarantee is for real, but the idea
  34. of Paradise having to buy me a card because they were too lazy to write
  35. drivers, does have the potential for sweet revenge.  Let's hope IBM jacks
  36. up the price of 8514's soon.  :)

  41. Guess that all depends on your definition of video card.  It was clear though,
  42. just a lot slower than a Diamond Stealth.  :-)
