- I think I can do more damage than that. I have a Paradise 1024 SVGA card.
- I don't have the manuals with me now, but I seem to recall a blurb in
- there that claims the card is compatible with an 8514/a. The reason I
- tend to recall that is a sentence that says something to the effect that
- if the card should fail in some situation where a real 8514/a wouldn't then
- paradise will buy you a real 8514/a. I got this card years ago, so I may
- be completely wrong about it, so could someone with the card and the manuals
- look it up. I remeber specifying 8514 as my display type the second time I
- installed OS/2, but all I got was 16 colors and regular VGA resolution. Does
- that count as 'failure in a situation where a real 8514/a wouldn't'?
-
- I don't particulary want an 8514/a if the guarantee is for real, but the idea
- of Paradise having to buy me a card because they were too lazy to write
- drivers, does have the potential for sweet revenge. Let's hope IBM jacks
- up the price of 8514's soon. :)
-
- eagerly awaiting confirmation

- Guess that all depends on your definition of video card. It was clear though,
- just a lot slower than a Diamond Stealth. :-)
