- I am having the strangest problems with OS/2 2.0, WordPerfect, and PCTCP
- (from FTP Software).
-
- First, if I leave PCTCP (in a VDM) idle for a long amount of time (it
- varies), it will forget that the TR is attached and start to have
- problems. For example, EzMail and TN cannot find the machine to connect
- to (even if I specify the full name). I suspect that maybe the TR is
- getting overheated or something.
-
- Second, and the bigger problem, is that I cannot run both PCTCP and
- WordPerfect at the same time under OS/2 2.0. If I have PCTCP running in
- a VDM in the background and I start WordPerfect 5.1 in the foreground,
- it'll all work just fine for a few minutes. Then, I get the following:
-
- PCTCP VDM
-
- SYS 2237: DosKrnl:
-
- A NPX instruction was attempted, but no NPX is present
-
- Explanation: You have an application attemptin to use the
- numeric coprocessor, but no coprocessor
- is present on this system.
-
- Then, PCTCP quits. C'mon, PCTCP shouldn't be using the FPU/NPX.
-
- By the way, this is with the new "golden" CSD (it used to work before).
-
- Thanks, Jeff.
