  25.     I tend to disagree with the trend this discussion is taking. TCP/IP
  26. 1.2.1 from os/2 is a wonderful program. there is NO other platform in
  27. the world that will run X, os/2, windows, and dos programs for $2500
  28. including hardware software and the entire ball of wax.

  30.     While it doesn't outrun the DecStation 5000s in our clusters in X
  31. performance, with my token ring connection and 486/33 w 8megs, I get
  32. more than satisfactory performance. No I won't do any real time graphics
  33. on this baby but for most X applications it is satisfactory.

  35.     You should notice that by saying that it is as bad as you are you
  36. are discouraging future tcpip/X buyers by exxagerating the slowness. I
  37. have often had 4 or 5 seperate x applications running along with word
  38. for windoze 2.0 and an os/2 command shell and had my swapfile as low as
  39. 7megs.
