  11. I've just installed the MCC distribution of linux and added patches to
  12. upgrade to 0.98pl2. I.m having a few minor problems and I want to know
  13. if the SLS kernel is the same as the MCC kernel. Can I apply patches
  14. 3-5 to the kernel I have without any problems or should I get the
  15. source for the SLS kernel. Linus admits in the FAQ that there are
  16. differences between the internet and SLS versions. I'm reluctant to
  17. install the SLS distribution from scratch.

  19. I have a problem with the kernel panicking trying to access an
  20. unformatted floppy. The swapper dies, and the message says "Kernel
  21. panic: trying to free up swapper memory space". I have more info if
  22. you're interested. As an aside to this, just how *do* you format a
  23. floppy under Linux?

  25. Lastly, does anyone out there have an Xconfig for a Paradise SVGA
  26. card? (PVGA1D with 1Mb onboard ram). I've been trying to get X to run
  27. but with no luck so far. I have a Goldstar 1465 SSI 14" monitor.
