- I've just installed the MCC distribution of linux and added patches to
- upgrade to 0.98pl2. I.m having a few minor problems and I want to know
- if the SLS kernel is the same as the MCC kernel. Can I apply patches
- 3-5 to the kernel I have without any problems or should I get the
- source for the SLS kernel. Linus admits in the FAQ that there are
- differences between the internet and SLS versions. I'm reluctant to
- install the SLS distribution from scratch.
-
- I have a problem with the kernel panicking trying to access an
- unformatted floppy. The swapper dies, and the message says "Kernel
- panic: trying to free up swapper memory space". I have more info if
- you're interested. As an aside to this, just how *do* you format a
- floppy under Linux?
-
- Lastly, does anyone out there have an Xconfig for a Paradise SVGA
- card? (PVGA1D with 1Mb onboard ram). I've been trying to get X to run
- but with no luck so far. I have a Goldstar 1465 SSI 14" monitor.
-
- Thanks for any help,
-
