- I tried sending this out last night from a different machine, but I guess it
- never went out.
-
- Anyway, I loaded up the SLS .98pl5 version of Linux last weekend and I'm
- really impressed. Hats off to the development team!
-
- I also tried to get X running on my GA-300 Local Bus S3 card with the
- X386-S3-0.2b binaries but to no avail. I have a Microsoft Busmouse and
- all that was printed on the screen was the background of X along with the
- 'xclock' notification and a skeleton of the xclock window. It required input
- from the mouse and the screen froze. Only Cntrl-Alt-BS got me out of X.
- In the Xconfig file, I used Microsoft /dev/bm, and it does not work. I used
- the test routine in /usr/X386/lib/X11/tst/mouse, and it confirmed that no
- input was received from the mouse. Does anyone know what's wrong?
-
- Also, I tried to get the X386-S3 driver to work in 1024x768 mode, but it
- doesn't work, only 800x600. Any hints how I can get higher resolutions?
-
- Thanks in advance,
- Herbert Hum
