  15. Each *.taz file is a compressed tar archive containing binaries, support
  16. files (including README, NEWS, and COPYING files from the FSF source), man
  17. pages (when available), and info pages (when available).  Linked with jump
  18. 4.1 libraries using gcc 2.2.2d (release version), and tested under Linux
  19. 0.98.pl4 and 0.98.pl5.

  21. The *.taz files are ready to 'gtar zpxvf' into /.  Also, the *.taz files
  22. should be compatible with the SLS sysinstall program, which can be used to
  23. install and uninstall these binary releases.

  25. Each *.Notes file explains how to install the binary release and how to
  26. compile the FSF source code.  It includes patches, if they are necessary,
  27. and can be fed directly to patch(1) without any editing.  The *.Notes files
  28. are also contained in the *.taz file.

  40.     This is a random collection of NET-2 source code, including: banner,
  41.     cal, col, colcrt, colrm, column, hexdump, od, strings, ul, uuencode,
  42.     uudecode, and whereis.  uuencode/uudecode have not been extensively
  43.     tested, so please don't rely on them until you have more confidence in
  44.     them.  Please send me bug reports!  Has man pages.
