- I just installed SLS 0.98... When it boots, I get something like:
-
- :Unknown Error
- :Unknown Error
- :Unknown Error
- shell-init: Unknown Error
- :Unknown Error
-
- Linux 0.98
-
- Login:
-
- Once I login I keep getting ":Unknown Error" and "PWD: Unknown Error" messages
- whenever I do anything (ie ls cat cd) from the root directory(/). When I'm
- in (/home) or (/etc) or any other directory off of root, I don't get the errors
-
- Anyone know what's going on?
- If this matters:
- 386-40
- 130Meg HD - 90dos/40linux
- 8Meg Mem
- SVGA
-
- I was running 0.96 without problems...
- Oh by the way, I also get a core dump when I run "menu" from the root dir. It
- works fine when I run it from /etc or /home etc.
-
- ...
-
- Another SLS question... I can't get "sysinstall" to read my floppy drives.
- The floppy 'light' doesn't even come on. I tried
- "sysinstall -special i -drive b:"
- "sysinstall -special i -drive b"
- "sysinstall -special i -drive /dev/fd??" <-- I forget the device... but I used
- the right one...
- "sysinstall -special i -instdev /dev/fd??" .. still nothing...
-
- any ideas?
-
- Please send mail to 0004821977@mcimail.com... If you are having the same type
- of problems, mail me and I will give you the compiled "Answers"...
-
- Thanks n advance...
